Frost and Light is the name of our lovely winter concert at Beckenham Chorale on Saturday 2nd December.
The Light is supplied by Howard Goodall – you may not know the name but you certainly know the theme tunes to The Vicar of Dibley and Blackadder. Mr Goodall really knows how to write a good tune, and his Eternal Lightsupplies a fair measure of drama and excitement as well.
The Frost is Frostiana, seven Robert Frost poems, including The Road Not Taken, are set to music by Randall Thompson, a delightful blend of the musical and the poetic.
And to kick the evening off, a Chorale favourite, the wonderful O Magnum Mysterium by Morten Laurisden. Ethereal harmonies, mesemerising dissonances. If you’ve never heard it, you really don’t know what you’re missing …
As ever, we work with professional soloists, orchestra and conductor. I can book tickets for you or get them online here. http://www.beckenhamchorale.org.uk/
