Fancy a relaxing fun day-out with family and/or friends? Waterperry Opera Festival presents 7 thrilling outdoor opera and theatre productions across 10 days within the stunning Waterperry Gardens. Their two headlining productions include:
Ariel (Jonathan Dove) 14th, 15th August at 3pm, 17th August at 4.30pm and 19th, 20th, 21st August at 4pm – Tickets | £8 – £15
Ariel by Jonathan Dove, is an intimate production based upon the notable play The Tempest, offers an insight into Ariel’s world following the spirit’s release from Prospero’s command, this song-cycle will be enjoyed by the most traditional Shakespeare followers.
The Elixir of Love (Donizetti) 12th, 14th, 15th, 17th August / 6pm – Tickets | £15 – £60This opera will transport you to 1950s America, where you can experience an evening of glitz and glamour at Adina’s Spa Retreat. Performed in English with orchestra, this opera offers the perfect escape in the form of a stylish staycation at the Waterperry Estate. Enjoy a relaxing glass of bubbly and soak up a splendid evening of operatic entertainment (with a twist).
Hansel & Gretel (Humperdinck) 19th, 20th, 21st August / 2pm & 5pm – Tickets | £15 – £30 – This production is supported by Arts Council Funding.
This well-loved fairy-tale is a relaxed, immersive and family-friendly production. We promise to captivate all who attend with vivid storytelling and magical music-making. A perfect theatrical experience for adults and children alike. British Sign Language will be integrated into the staging for all performances. Prior to the shows, there will be a free signed singing, and props-making workshop, exploring themes and characters from the opera.
